Keeper of the Flame

I always felt this film was very underrated...I know there isn't as much romance in the film between Kate and Spence, but the story I just find intriguing. Their acting is superb, and Kate's monologue at the end is just great. They also both look amazing. Kate looks STUNNING. Her hair parted in the middle-I love it!

Although most people say their top 2 Kate and Spence films are Woman of the Year and Adam's Rib, I would have to say that Keeper of the Flame is my 2nd favorite of theirs (behind Woman of the Year). There's just a great quality about this film that gets me-their appearances, their acting, the sets. I just love it. There is some sort of mysterious quality about this film that I love so much.

Unfortunately, the film is not on DVD and hard to get on VHS. I just bought it online on If you are looking for the film, there are a few used and new copies from sellers on Amazon. And I am sure eBay has copies as well.

Become a Founding Fan of the "Kate"

If you donate $15 or more to the upcoming Katharine Hepburn Cultural Arts Center in Old Saybrook, CT, Hepburn's hometown, you can have your name in the theater! It's a great cause too. This theater will be opening in the fall, and will include a small museum dedicated to Kate. I cannot wait for this to open! I am hoping to make it down there for the opening, because I only live about 2 hours from there (I am from Massachusetts). I donated $15 and can't wait to see my name there.

What? No Summer Under the Stars day?!

Hey everyone, want to know what Kate movies are playing on TV? Check out this website:

Kate TV Listings

Also, I was VERY surprised that Kate was not on TCM's Summer Under the Stars for the month of August. Kind of bummed about that :( I guess they needed to give other stars a turn though. But come on, Kate deserves a day though, doesn't she? Oh well.

Guess Who's Coming to Dinner will be playing August 14th @ 4pm ET on TCM for Sidney Poitier's day. At least one of her movies got in this month I guess.

Some beautiful LIFE photos

I've always loved these LIFE pictures, taken on the production set of The Philadelphia Story (the play) in 1939. I wish I could have seen her in it. She was so beautiful! You can click on the pictures to make them larger.

An interesting Bringing Up Baby video

This video is pretty neat-explains all the special effects that were used in the filming of Bringing Up Baby. When I watched this I was amazed at how many effects there were that I never caught onto. I never knew there was a puppet in a few scenes! Watch and you'll see what was used:
